pydance is a dancing game written in Python, formerly named pyDDR. The idea is simple. There's a floor mat with arrows, and the game scrolls arrows up the screen to the beat while playing a song. When the arrows reach the top of the screen (not sooner and not later), the player hits the corresponding arrow on the pad, and given that it's hit on time with the beat, points are scored. Based on how well the dance is put together, s/he is graded at the end of the song. Both keyboard and mat play are supported.
cdevour is a set of scripts designed to make CD ripping painless. Aside from swapping discs, it aims for as little user interaction as possible. Drives are continually polled for discs. Upon finding a disc in a drive, it determines what CD it is, makes sure it has enough disk space, and rips. Names are retrieved from CDDB and the disc is ejected when finished. CDs that have already been ripped are ejected immediately, and when there is not enough disk space, the script waits until there is. A separate encoding script encodes files into Ogg Vorbis in the background. Encoded files are tagged and renamed. Another script can move albums into a music directory automatically.

Or, better yet, let's complain about it, just like everything else, instead of doing the right thing and laughing at it? Dude, get some optimism in your life FAST. Go play some global thermonuclear war or something.

Indeed it'd be a shitty day to offer someone a job. Especially if that person ISN'T you, the one that is unemployed. God knows I'd accept a good job on April 1st if someone genuinely offered me one.

Ever stop to look at the date of the post? Not only is it the first day of April indeed, but the TIME of the post is 00:00 - I'm sorry to point this out, however, if you already noticed it.
You know, I might just go in there and list my resume just for the fun of it. You never know who might notice, someone might actually be in there scouting them and NOT be joking about it. Or maybe someone will notice and recommend me to someone else. Who knows?

Your loss! FM is probably one of THE best places to list a project ever. It's done wonders for my game, and I'm sure numerous other small projects have incubated their info at freshmeat and become big because of it. Don't treat fm as some sort of business that is losing market share because you don't list whatever code you decide to write (whether it's crappy, like my project, or slick and awesome like a lot of the other projects listed), IF you indeed wrote the project in the first place.
If not, I won't hold my breath for the fortune-expansion-for-type-a-when-a-means-antagonist-people package you'd submit if you weren't having such a bad day.
Hope April 2nd isn't twice as bad for you. If it turns out to be, just go see a hypnotherapist like in Office Space.

You can say that again:
PID USER PRI NI SIZE RSS SHARE STAT %CPU %MEM TIME COMMAND

That's 6 megs of RAM, folks. And it's got window-snapping and runs using GTK. Think about that for about 4 seconds, and download this now.
