About the Japanese guy
While reading the post full of shit from timecop, I was thinking if it deserves a reply. I don't think so, but the part about not trusting a Brazilian distribution really pissed me off. It only shows how many uneducated people live around the world.
Maybe it's not his fault, anyway. There are lots of stupid movies about the jungle that covers part of our country and show Brazilians like Tarzans.
But let's give him some real arguments:
the programming language Lua, which was used in Grim Fandango and Baldur's Gate;
the Conectiva Linux Distribution, you know what they can do;
work on AfterStep and WindowMaker, and etc.
I am sorry if this is out of scope, but I hate prejudice.
I don't use GPL for my code either, my license of choice is BSD. If they will use my code in proprietary software, it will be stated in the docs and I will know I produced a good piece of code. If they put nice features in it, I will reproduce it if I can, if not someone else will and the source will improve. Nobody's wrong in charging for code, it's their living, damn.
